How the church is led

Bishops, presbyters and people together

In the Church of South India, the bishop is the chief pastor of the diocese; presbyters are ordained to preach, to celebrate the sacraments and to care for the congregation; and lay members share fully in the government of the church through its committees and councils.

At RMC the presbyter-in-charge leads the worship and pastoral care of the congregation and chairs the Pastorate Committee. The bishop visits for occasions such as Confirmation, as Bishop Timothy Ravinder did in September 2025.
