The Pastorate Committee
Each pastorate of the Church of South India is governed by a Pastorate Committee: the presbyter as chairman, together with lay members elected by the congregation. Our own service announcements describe the ministry of the church in just this way — presbyter and chairman, Pastorate Committee, Diocesan Committee and congregation, serving together.
What the committee does
Three areas of care
Worship & ministries
Supports the presbyter in arranging services, festivals and the work of the fellowships through the year.
Finance & property
Receives and accounts for the offerings of the congregation, and looks after the church building and its grounds.
The wider church
Represents the Sulur Pastorate in the councils of the CSI Coimbatore Diocese.
